We have here a 1991 325iS Evo2 with an odometer reading just 57,000km.
Kirshan Govindasamy has this car for 8 years now and has the complete service history till 44,000km.
After the mileage clocked 44000km - Kirshan then sent the the car to TuneTech to bore the motor up to 2.9l which produced 209hp on pump fuel. Making for one of the strongest aspirated readings in Durban.
He has since spent the last 2 years doing a full ‘nut & bolt’ restoration which costed in excess of R120k. even the original sleeving, lugs, and cloth tape was bought new from the agents. The particular BMW Dealer Kirshan chose is BMW Supertech in Durban.
This car has been featured in the Speed and Sound magazine, as well as Gas Magazine and will feature in the Max My Ride mag too.
This iS is packed with a full custom JBL Sound setup with STP sound deadening installed through the entire car, including the floor, fenders, doors, roof & boot.
Suspension is stiffened up by a combination of Bilstein and H&R setup, and the brakes replaced with new ATE parts.
Kirshan decided to tweak the original Diamond Black paint slightly before repainting the entire car.
Kirshan says his passion has always been with BMW. “The first car i ever drove was a 325i e30 with a 3.0 m3 e36 drivetrain, then a 325is. My passion has always been BMW so much that i have a BMW ///M logo tattooed on my arm”
“This was my very first car- a shadowline”
“Then I got another E30 – a 92 325i, and thereafter an 89 325i with a worked 2.7 head and a shot of 150 nitrous which ran 13.5 on the quartermile.”
Another of my past rides was this 87 325i which also had a worked 2.7 head with triple side-draughts.
Altogether I have owned 6 325i's , an E34 M5, 2 x 325is's, and an original ice white shadowline.
I’m currently in the process of building another Evo1-OAF 325iS and also negotiating a 4door e36 turbo nitrous BMW M3.”
Some pretty builds to look forward to from Kirshan, and if they all go through the same detail that this 325is has gone through, it will be worth the wait.
